Ministry with Youth: Emergent Paradigms and Possibilities

Richter, Don C. "Ministry with Youth: Emergent Paradigms and Possibilities." Unpublished manuscript, 1995.

What does it mean to do "youth ministry" in a post-modern, post-denominational context? In this essay, Richter claims that youth ministry in North America is adapting well to the challenges of this age. Indeed, many so-called "sideline" denominations are currently in the midst of an expansionist phase for ministries with youth. Some emergent models for ecumenical youth ministry are harbingers of hope for the church of tomorrow. The essay provides brief profiles of effective programs, including a description of the Youth Theology Institute program (which the author directs).
