This report outlines the goals and findings of a project to create a map of adult B.A. programs at faith-based colleges, to assess the programs’ impact on adult students in terms of conveying the institutional missions of these colleges, and to ascertain the programs influence on students’ religious, family, career and civic commitments. The reports findings are based on the work of an interdisciplinary team of scholars who collected information through (1) a mail survey of 600 church-related schools, (2) ethnographic studies conducted at nine colleges, and (3) a telephone survey of 800 alumni of faith-based adult degree programs.
