Political Incorrectness and Theological Education

Bucher, Glenn R. "Political Incorrectness and Theological Education," Theology Today 49 (January 1993): 534-537.

Glenn Bucher turns the definition of "political correctness" on its head by insisting that those currently associated with the label are, in fact, challenging an ecclesiastical political correctness of far older vintage. That older tradition ignored or rejected the value of different cultures, languages, genders and theologies in understanding the gospel and educating the faithful. In Bucher's view, then, the contemporary forces of political correctness are radically politically incorrect and offer the possibility of freeing theological education, and even the gospel, from the domination of earlier version of the politically correct.
