Religion, Higher Education, and Service

Trainor, Stephen. "Religion, Higher Education, and Service." Nashua, NH: Rivier College, 1998.

Stephen Trainor prepared a report on his study of service learning programs at church-related colleges. His study includes an eight-page Service Learning Survey and data on five colleges involved in his study: (1) Dordt College, (2) Rivier College, (3) St. Mary’s of the Woods College, (4) St. Paul’s College, and the (5) University of the Incarnate Word. Each of these shorter reports contains a summary of service learning activities that took place at each of the five colleges during this time. These activities include items such as the appointment of task forces, orientation of new students, curriculum development, outreach to service agencies, creation of campus listservs, workshops, evaluations, advertisement, implementation of pilot programs, development of relevant written materials and training of staff.
