Ogden defines Christian theology as either the process (research) or product (scholarship) of critical reflection on the claim of instances of Christian witness to be both adequate to its content and fitting to its situation. He says theological research and scholarship exhibit a breakdown in the dialectic between the reflection of theology and the praxis of witness. (RG)
