Lives of Commitment: Dissemination Project

Project Number:
Start Date:
Tue, 11/01/1994
End Date:
Tue, 12/31/1996

The National Society for Experimental Education disseminated through this grant the findings of an earlier study that had gathered and analyzed the stories of over one hundred people who have, over the long run, demonstrated the capacity to sustain an uncommon commitment to the common good. These study identified patterns which governed the lives of such people and explored a process of formation and education that can inform the efforts to shape the next generation of morally and religiously committed people.

The findings of this study were published in the book “Common Fire: Lives of Commitment in a Complex World” (Beacon Press, 1996). This project disseminated the finding of the earlier study through various channels such as book reviews, newspaper articles, and radio.
