Wartburg Theological Seminary initiated the Cultivating Pastoral Leadership program to realign its capacities to prepare candidates for congregational ministry. Included in the program was a faculty development component which generated opportunities for cooperative teaching among faculty members; it enabled the faculty to employ new educational technologies as part of their teaching methodology.
The program enabled the school to reassess its curriculum for the Master of Divinity Program through a sub-Committee on Assessment; the finding of the sub committee resulted in a set of twelve pastoral practices describing what the faculty expects to instill through the curriculum in the ministry of the seminary’s graduates.
